Dear Parents,

The St. John’s Hot Lunch Program would like to welcome everyone back to school! I especially want to welcome all the new students coming to St. John’s and the Kindergartners who will be eating with us for the first time. Here at St. John’s we encourage each student to eat a good and healthy lunch so our minds and bodies have the energy to work and play through the day.

The price for a hot lunch is $1.35 per student this includes milk. If your child takes an extra milk or has a milk with their cold lunch that cost is $.25 per carton. In paying for your lunches I would like each family to purchase their tickets on a monthly basis. Example: In September there are 19 days of hot lunch available, if you have two children you would purchase 38 lunches. If your child(ren) did not eat hot lunch everyday, the remaining lunches would carry over to October. All lunches will be kept on record according to each family.

The Hot Lunch Program is a regulated program by the state of Minnesota, their guideline states that: A student who is out of lunch tickets may “borrow” one lunch, if they are two lunches behind they may only have a peanut butter sandwich. If they become three lunches behind, we are unable to serve that student a lunch. I ask you to PLEASE keep current with your child’s lunches so that the above situation does not occur.

Adults and all children who do not attend school are also welcome to come and eat lunch with their children, or grandchildren. An adult meal costs $2, to make your reservation, please call the school office by 9 AM.
